About the Founder, Susy Dorn

Susy Dorn is a teacher, singer-songwriter, puppeteer and entrepreneur originally from Peru. For more than two decades, she has had the privilege of teaching and entertaining young children throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

She is a firm believer that early childhood is the ideal time for children to learn a second language, and she brings this philosophy to life through fun, musical, and interactive learning experiences.

Susy founded Let’s Play in Spanish in 2001, beginning with small Spanish classes taught in a friend’s home. What started as a modest classroom soon blossomed into a creative and inspiring Spanish learning program taught all around the SF Bay Area. Today, Let’s Play in Spanish has touched the lives of thousands of children and their families.

Drawing on her degree in Child Development Education, her love of children, and her background in music and theatre, Susy has released hundreds of original children’s songs—now available on all major streaming platforms. She has also produced hundreds of educational videos, including sing-along music videos and beloved puppet stories that delight young learners and make Spanish come alive with joy.

Over more than two decades, these creations have grown into a complete Spanish immersion curriculum used by teachers across the country. Through our all-in-one digital platform, educators gain full access to Susy’s music, videos, stories, printable activities, flashcards, posters, and teacher support—everything they need to bring playful, meaningful Spanish learning to toddlers, preschoolers, kindergartners, and elementary-aged children.

Susy and her team believe that all children deserve the opportunity to learn another language at a young age. Through Let’s Play in Spanish Foundation, they hope to help children develop an appreciation for other cultures and traditions, along with a respect for the values that unite us all.
